Beachcomber Kerstin Müller found boat 232465 high up on the beach of the Langanes peninsula, north of Þórshöfn in the far northeast of Iceland. She found this boat during her vacation in Iceland. At first she thought it was a kind of modern message in a bottle. That there is so much more behind it surprised her. She is all the more pleased to have become a part of this interesting project through her find.
The boat was decorated by Lucy Krank and Remi on February 23, 2023 in Boulder Colorado USA at Centennial Middle School. Teacher Bill Schmoker etched the school mascot into the bottom of each boat they sent to the North Pole and it was still very legible on this found boat.
The boat was deployed by Le Commandant Charcot on August 31, 2023 at the North Pole.
