Carbondale Library Participants' Boat Found in Iceland

A wooden boat that originated in Carbondale, Colorado, #223124 was found in Geitavík in Borgarfjörður Eystri, Iceland by Hildur Yr Omarsdottir on November 15th.


Wild Rose Education's Sarah Johnson (co-coordinator of Float Your Boat) facilitated an Arctic Science community program in March 2022 at the Carbondale Library. And it was during this program that her friends, Jake and Krista Lasko’s family (two pre-teen boys) participated and decorated a boat. This particular boat were generously cut and sanded by Carbondale, Colorado friend and community member, Russ Criswell.
